My name is Amanda Kate Hill. I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine Master Trainer. There are currently only 40 NASM Master Trainers worldwide, 5 are women, and I am one of them.
I am a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and Women’s Fitness Specialist. I am also a TRX Certified Trainer.
I am a Certified Nutritional Consultant through the Global College of Natural Medicine and a Level 1 Certified Sports Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition.
I have been a Certified Massage Therapist since 1992 after attending the Institute of Conscious Body Work in Marin County.
You might be wondering what all of the above means, so I’m going to break it down for you in real simple terms: I am a Certified Badass Fitness & Nutrition Coach. I will design a program that will help correct postural compensations, teach you how to move functionally, and help you improve sports performance. I will get your body ready for and/or recover from giving birth. I will guide you in the best possible direction to reach your goals via nutrition and give you my honest educated opinion when you have questions regarding the latest diet trends, which, to be honest, will probably be “diets don’t work, that sounds horrible”.
I will also, on top of all this awesomeness, help you deal with any strange muscles cramps brought on by any of the aforementioned activities by using my Massage Therapist Skills – This basically means I will poke around the spots that hurt in order to get the muscles to relax. If I wanted to bore you I would now talk about Golgi Tendon Organs and Muscle Spindles, but I won’t, unless you ask me to.
In a nutshell: I am the whole package and I love my job.
I make it a rule to attend at least one seminar per year in order to keep up with latest fitness and nutrition information and trends. I believe that there is always potential for growth, no matter how much you know you will never know everything, however, my desire to be the absolute best drives me to keep learning in order to know as much as I possibly can. If you come to me with a question and I do not have an answer I will simply say, “I don’t know, let me get back to you” and then I will research my face off. My absolute number one rule is Do No Harm.
I have been a full-time Fitness & Nutrition Coach since 2007. In 2009 I opened my personal studio where I work with clients individually. My clients are a diverse bunch ranging from seniors to sports specific athletes to expecting moms to humans who just want to move and feel better. Many of my clients who started with me in 2007 are still with me today.
I spring out of bed every day because I’m excited for my morning cup of black tea and the opportunity to help my clients be better.
